📢 Funding Opportunity: India–Finland Joint Innovation Call 2026
The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, through the Technology Development Board, and Business Finland have launched the India–Finland Joint Innovation Call 2026.
The call supports collaborative, market-driven research, development and innovation projects involving eligible partners from India and Finland. Projects should aim to develop and commercialise new or improved products, processes or services.
Priority areas include:
🔹 Sustainable Energy, including renewable energy, hydrogen technologies, energy storage, electric mobility, waste-to-energy, carbon capture, smart-city solutions and heat pumps
🔹 Advanced Digital Technologies, including 5G/6G networks, advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence and virtual-world technologies
🔹 Microelectronics and Power Electronics, including MEMS and sensors
The call is primarily intended for eligible Finnish and Indian companies.
On the Indian side, the project must be led by an eligible Indian for-profit company. Other companies and research organisations may participate as consortium partners, subject to the call requirements.
Finnish research organisations may participate under Business Finland’s normal Co-Research eligibility and company-support criteria.
Projects may run for up to 24 months, with successful projects expected to begin in January 2027.
📅 Deadline for Indian applications: 28 August 2026 at 4:00 p.m. IST
Applications must be submitted separately by the Indian and Finnish partners to their respective funding agencies. Projects must be approved for funding in both countries.
