NCI St Stephen’s College Artist in Residence Programme

NCI in cooperation with St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi aims to attract artists in the Spring and writers in the Fall for an Writer/Artist in Residence Programme at St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. St. Stephen’s, a constituent college of Delhi University, is a highly regarded undergraduate teaching higher educational institution of India. It has a long history of excellence and is widely regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges for arts and sciences in India, producing a line of distinguished alumni.

Who can apply?

Artists/Art scholars practicing an art form for the Spring term and Writers for the Fall term located at NCI member universities.

What are the terms?
  • The period of the tenure is two months (January and February 2019) and the artist/author will be attached to one of the Departments in College.
  • Responsibilities of the artist/writer would include two lectures a week to undergraduate students and a maximum of two workshops/lectures on a subject of the artist/writer’s choice in consultation with the Department identified and with the approval of the Principal.
  • A lecture-visit to a partnering institution outside Delhi can be considered if the artist/writer and College are in agreement about this.
  • In return College will be able to provide modest accommodation on campus comprising a room and an attached bath/washroom
  • Meals at the High Table and
  • A small honorarium.
