MDI NCI Visiting Professorship Programme

NCI and MDI Gurgaon are collaborating to present an exciting new opportunity to faculty members in economics, management and business administration through the NCI-MDI Visiting Professorship Programme. As part of this programme, NCI member university faculty members can come and teach for two weeks at MDI, a top ranking Indian business school, and add values to their Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGPIM). The offer covers international airfare, local hospitality and a modest honorarium. .

Faculty members at NCI member universities that have teaching experience in the specific areas delineated below.

What is the nature of the programme?

The visiting faculty member will have to take up a two week course (which includes teaching and assessing students) in one of the following themes:

Course Structure and Evaluation

a) Each course is offered for  a total duration of 30 contact hours.
b) Each session is for a duration of 90 minutes. Hence there are a total of 20 sessions in a course.
c) There are usually 7 types of evaluation components in a course. Visiting Fellows can choose how they would like to assess the students by using a combination of the following:  

  • 2 short quizzes before the mid-term examination.
  • 1 mid-term examination.
  • 2 short quizzes after the mid-term examination.
  • 1 End-Term examination.
  • 1 Assignment — Could be an individual or a group assignment.
What is covered?

a) Honorarium of US $ 100 per session for 20 sessions
b) Reimbursement of international Airfare for to-and-fro travel by economy class
c) On-campus hospitality (Boarding and Lodging) during the period of stay

Deadline for applying

For the June- August 2019 sessions – January 31st , 2019 
For the September to December 2019 sessions- April 30th, 2019
For the January to March 2020 sessions – August 30th, 2019

  • CV along with a list of research background/experience and publications/research projects (max 1 page)
  • Letter from your home university 

The following should be sent to Lise Hansen ( by email with a subject line – NCI MDI Visiting Professorship Programme.

Applications will be evaluated internally and by MDI Gurgaon, and applicants will be informed about the status of the application within two weeks.

Upon completion of the programme, the visiting professor will be required to submit a short written report to the Nordic Centre of India describing the experience.
