Associate professor position at the University Museum of Bergen

There is a vacancy for a permanent position as associate professor in systematics within one of the fields of phycology, lichenology, bryology or mycology at the University Museum of Bergen, Department of Natural History. The Department of Natural History has the scientific and curatorial responsibility for botany, geology and zoology at the museum. Currently there are 15 scientific and 38 technical and administrative staff at the department, including the botanic gardens. The position is connected to herbarium BG, which houses the collections of lichens, algae, mosses, fungi, and vascular plants and comprises more than 700 000 specimens. There is currently a focus on lesser-known organismal groups in Norway and the Arctic, and the department provides data for the Norwegian Biodiversity Information Centre “Artsdatabanken”, BoLD and GBiF.
