About the Programme

The India Immersive Experience (IIE) is a two-week, faculty-led study visit curated by the National Institute of Fashion Technology for international partner institutions. The programme blends classroom workshops with hands-on exposure to India’s craft heritage, design ecosystems, and cultural landscapes. Expect guided visits to craft clusters and iconic markets, interactions with artisans and design houses, and focused workshops on sustainability and innovation in fashion and textiles.

Itinerary at a Glance

Kolkata — an exquisite mix of cultural richness
Curated tours may include: heritage trails, tram tour, market walks (New Market to Gariahat), music/theatre glimpses, street-food tasting, and the city’s literary heritage. 

Varanasi — a timeless spiritual haven
Curated tours may include: sunrise ghats, old-city lanes and markets, temple trails, handicrafts and traditional weaving, the Ganga Aarti, and local food culture. 

Delhi — the capital steeped in history and power
Curated tours may include: hidden heritage walks, Chandni Chowk to Janpath markets, Old Delhi histories, culinary trails, Mughal–British architectural landmarks, “day-in-the-life” local immersion, and street art to handicrafts.
