The Secretariat of NCI circulates between the member universities. From 2022 the NCI Secretariat is being hosted by Tampere University, Finland.
Tampere Universities came into being at the beginning of 2019 when the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology were merged to create the new foundation-based Tampere University that maintains close collaboration with Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
Tampere University is committed to combining world-class research and innovation activities, promoting multidisciplinary learning and lifelong partnerships and generating unique expertise in developing applications that benefit industry, business and the public sector.
The Nordic Secretariat offers support to its member universities and reaches out to Nordic universities and research institutes. The Secretariat led by the Chairperson of the NCI board develops with members common strategies and potential activities in the Nordic region as well as in India. The Secretariat represents the NCI in the Nordic region and handles the communication to members, partners and interested organisations regarding the facilities the NCI has to offer to its members on an institutional level, as well as for individual researchers and students of the respective member universities.
